It appeared to me that Trinity had the right combination of academic quality, student body size and social life.
I always loved the late night Monopoly games in the dorm.
Dr. Harold Dorwart, head of the Mathematics Department in the late 1950s, had the foresight to encourage math majors to learn computer programming and to arrange for them to use the computing facilities at United Aircraft in East Hartford.
I learned that the primary job of a Professor (or any leader) is to be the “First Assistant” to his students. His job is not primarily to impart knowledge or teach students how to think, but to be the student’s “assistant” as the student absorbs information and as he develops his ability to sort out facts and bring them to bear on his environment and his society.
For nearly forty years, I have served as a member of Scholarships for Illinois Residents, Inc., a not-for-profit foundation which provides scholarship and internship funding to Illinois students who attend Trinity.

Trinity gave me a sound basis for my continued learning. I want to help others to have the advantage of attending such a fine college.
