PETER FLAGG MAXSON '69
it was the best college academically that I was admitted to and the most distant from Texas. There were also family ties going back to my grandfather (Class of 1909) and great-great-grandfather (Class of 1848).
Among my fond memories were the Trowbridge Pool swimming classes in the buff!
My pantheon of Trinity professors would include Norton Downs & George Cooper (history), John C.E. Taylor (art history), George Higgins (psychology) and Chaplain Alan Tull.
After 12 years in a boys school in Dallas I was VERY eager to see the greater world. Trinity propelled me out of Texas physically, mentally, politically and socially. Life began...
Five-year class reunions, seeing friends on trips East, being courted by the Development Office and now e-mail communications with old chums.
I'd had a very casual interest in art but "History of Art" by H.W. Janson and the systematic study of art and architecture was a revelation. I later became an architectural historian.
I'm involved with enough non-profits to know the percentage of alumni giving is important. Trinity I feel truly needs the $$$ to prosper. I can't give large donations now, but Trinity will receive a nice bequest one day.
