Trinity was the only school at the time effectively selling itself as "the liberal arts school in the city". I knew I wanted a small learning environment with the advantages of an urban setting. The choice was obvious.
Working with Yolanda Cruz at Building Parent Power, the great folks from the Trinity Center for Neighborhoods, and the South Hartford Initiative. Also chatting with and getting to know our devoted Mather Dining Hall employees.
Professor Robert Peltier whose class "Writing Broad Street Stories" should have been its own distribution requirement and Professor Diana Evans who always made herself available to me.
Speaking for the voiceless and disenfranchised probably will not make you popular. The battle you are fighting you may not win. But the strength, courage, and character that you will gain in the process will be yours for life.
