JENNIFER L. WILLIAMS '04
Having grown up in the area, I had always heard that Trinity was such a good school. I chose Trinity because of its reputation and the opportunity to study at a small liberal arts college in a small city.
During my senior year I was going through a difficult time and I remember one of my friends decided to give me a squash racquet, because I had taken squash for credit in the fall and I had always followed our squash team. I remember thinking it was one of the most thoughtful gifts I had ever received and a story only a Trinity alum could appreciate!
Stefanie Chambers is my favorite professor; she was a friend and a mentor. We both have a passion for reforming urban education and she took me under her wing.
Actually something that comes to mind quite often is a memory from Commencement. Dr. Ruth was actually our keynote speaker and I know that raised a lot of eyebrows! But she urged us to not waste a second, because time is too precious...I try to live by the same creed.
attending alumni events and keeping in touch with other alums.
I always go to bat (no pun intended) for any alums interested in jobs at ESPN!
I really enjoyed my Intro to Intl Relations book, as well as the novels I had to read for elective anthropology courses. These books allowed a glimpse into a whole other world totally different from my own.
People underestimate the power of going to a liberal arts college in a small city. I give because I want to keep that school/city connection alive...not just on the smaller stage of Hartford, but globally through study abroad programs. Most importantly, I would never want any students to be deterred from going to Trinity due to financial constraints.
