JOHN B ANZ '86
It was the school I most wanted to attend. I visited and interviewed at Trinity, Amherst and Williams. I applied EARLY DECISION, was accepted, and that was that!
11 years after being a student, and 3 years after having worked at Trinity, I was married in the chapel on a gorgeous June day in 1997. Have to say - it beat any day on campus over many years before.
Drew Hyland - Philosophy of Literature...Philosophy of Sport...found out WHO I WAS in his classes - I still quote him and the books I read in his class to this day - 'nough said.
You don't know a thing about who you are, until you really put yourself on the line - all the way out on the line! I learned that the hard way as a student (because I never did). I learned the lesson again when I saw my players risk everything, and came out the other side winners. If I had only learned in the '80s what became so clear in the '90s!
How much time do you have? I spent 3 wonderful but painful years there as a student; 4 incredible years there as coach, colleague and friend; married my wife in the chapel; thru thick and thin, Trinity will always be a part of me, and I hope to always be a part of Trinity.
"The Joy of Sports" by Michael Novak.
...because it gave so much to me. As with my earlier years associated with the college, I still "get" much more than I "give."
